Holiday Outdoor Light Hanging Tips

Are you a holiday enthusiast looking for ways to spice up your outdoor decorations this season? Then look no further! Decorating the outside of your home is one of the best ways to express your Christmas spirit and delight in the joy of the season.

Hanging lights on your house or garden can be daunting, but with a little planning and preparation, you can create twinkling displays that will delight your home. Try these six tips.

1.  Get an Early Start

One of the best tips for hanging holiday lights is to get an early start. This way, you can avoid the rush and ensure that your lights are hung correctly. Additionally, you'll have more time to enjoy the holiday season without worrying about your lights.

2.  Choose the Right Lights

When choosing holiday lights, selecting the right type of light for your needs is important. Various types of lights are available, including LED, incandescent, and solar-powered lights. Each type of light has its own advantages and disadvantages, so be sure to choose the right type for your needs.

3.  Plan Your Design Ahead of Time

Before you start hanging your holiday lights, it's a good idea to plan your design ahead. This way, you can ensure that your lights are evenly spaced and that your design is symmetrical. Additionally, planning ahead will help you avoid any last-minute mistakes.

4.  Use Zip Ties or Hooks

You'll need to use zip ties or hooks to hang your holiday lights. Zip ties are easy to use and can be found at most hardware stores. Hooks are also easy to use, but they may damage your siding if not used properly. Be sure to follow the instructions that come with your chosen method of hanging.

5.  Test Your Lights Before Hanging Them

Before you hang your holiday lights, be sure to test them first. This way, you can ensure that they are working properly and that there are no damaged bulbs. Testing your lights before hanging them will save you time and frustration in the long run.

6.  Be Careful When Climbing

If you need to climb a ladder to hang your holiday lights, be sure to take proper safety precautions. Always have someone hold the ladder steady while you climb, and never stand on the top rung of the ladder. Additionally, wear shoes with good traction in case you lose your footing.

Happy Holidays!

Hanging holiday lights can be daunting, but with a little planning and preparation, it can be an enjoyable experience. Following these tips will help you create twinkling displays that will bring joy to your home this holiday season. So, grab your ladder and get started!

  • We are very pleased with 970 Services work and their customer service. Our roof was damaged from hail and needed to be replaced. Aaron worked with our insurance supplemental team and ensured we got the full amount that was owed to us. He also made sure the work was done correctly on our roof with a post inspection. Very professional and friendly. Thank you 970 Services for all your help! Definitely recommend!

  • Steve and his crew have done several projects at our house (water remediation, painting, plumbing, minor electrical, etc.), and I would use them again in a heartbeat. They are professional, responsive, and do top quality work. Their detailed estimates show where every penny goes, and they let you know if something needs to change. It's a great feeling to know that I can reach out to Steve if there's a problem, and he'll find a way to solve it.

  • We had a water leak from our hot water heater and our insurance company recommended 970 Services. I cannot tell you how great they were. Steve scheduled us quickly, did a very thorough inspection of damages, set up drying equipment and got things headed in the right direction. He then coordinated all necessary sub contractors for drywall, flooring, and even requested to be present when the insurance adjuster arrived so that they couldn’t skimp on us. This is the company you want to work with and I will never call anyone else! Thank you Steve & 970!
